2nd Annual Lowcountry Fine Art Showcase Prospectus
August 2, 2026 – September 5, 2026
Old Santee Canal Park, 900 Stony Landing Drive, Moncks Corner
Hosted by the Goose Creek Artists Guild, Judged by artist Larry Moore, Charleston, SC
Over $2500 in Awards:
Best of Show, $300. In each of the six (6) media categories:
1st Place, $150; 2nd Place, $100, 3rd place, $75.
Up to six (6) honorable mentions ribbons may be placed across categories, $50.
Eligibility: Open to all artists 18 years or older who are South Carolina residents.
Each artist may submit up to 5 entries, but no more than 2 per category in:
Watercolor/Gouache, Acrylic, Oil, Drawing/Printmaking, Dry Pastel, and Mixed Media.
Specifications:
- Artwork must have been completed in the preceding two years and not previously exhibited in this show.
- Concept, design and execution of the artwork shall be solely that of the artist. Artworks completed in collaboration, workshops, class or under the supervision of any instructor are not eligible.
- Exhibitors must have full copyright and ownership rights to any piece submitted.
- Reference photos used in the creation of the work must be taken by the artist. Work created with the aid of another person’s photograph, image, or artwork is not eligible for this competition, even if permission was granted for the use of the image.
- This is a fine art showcase. Artisan crafts, photography, computer generated, or AI works are not permitted.
- At time of delivery, artists will sign a statement that their work adheres to the above specifications in order to be eligible for prizes.
- For Watercolor/Gouache, Acrylic, Oil, Drawing/Printmaking, and Dry Pastel entries, the work should be mostly (at least 80%) completed with that one media.
- Work with less than 80% of one media is considered mixed media. (For example, 75% watercolor and 25% ink drawing) Mixed Media may also include collage.
- Drawing and Printmaking have been combined into one category for this showcase, and shall include charcoal, graphite, ink, crayon, oil pastel, colored pencil, and all hand-pulled printmaking techniques.
- Maximum size limit is 40 inches in either direction including the frame.
- Entries must be properly framed, wired with D-rings, and ready to hang. Unframed gallery wrapped canvas (1.5” minimum depth) will be acceptable if the sides are painted as a continuation of the painting, or painted black/ neutral color.
- All formal challenges with indisputable proof of an entry breaking the show rules will be considered up to two days after judging, by contacting the show chairperson. Any entry found in violation of the rules of the show will be removed & returned to the artist; entry fees will be forfeited.

Registration and Fees: Registration and fees must be paid online by Sunday, July 26, 2026. Scroll down to submit entires and payment. Entry fees are $20 per artwork for the first 2 artworks, and $10 per artwork for additional artworks up to a max of 5. Those who prefer to pay for entries via check, should write them to: Goose Creek Artists Guild and mail to Sue Selvey, Treasurer GCAG, 103 Iken Circle Goose Creek, SC 29445. Checks and registration must be received by the deadline in order to be eligible for the show.
Registration may close early if the entries exceed capacity prior to the registration deadline.
Deliver entries to the Interpretive Center of the Old Santee Canal Park, 900 Stony Landing Drive, Moncks Corner, SC, Saturday, August 1, 2026, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (NO EARLY DROP OFF). By submitting works for this exhibition, the artist accepts all conditions set forth in this prospectus. The back of all work should be labeled with the artist’s name, title of work, and contact information.
The Goose Creek Artists Guild and the Old Santee Canal Park will take reasonable precautions to prevent the loss or damage to the works, but accept no responsibility for the same. By entering this exhibition, you hereby agree to accept any and all liability and hold harmless all other parties.

2026 JUDGE: Larry Moore is a multi-disciplinary American artist, author, instructor, and creative coach whose career spans several decades of artistic evolution. Known for his transition from a highly successful career in commercial illustration to fine art- ranging from plein air landscapes to profound abstract series- Moore has established himself not just as a creator of compelling visual imagery, but as a leading voice in the mechanics of creative thinking.
Currently operating out of his studio in Charleston, South Carolina, Moore’s work explores the boundaries between observed reality and pure abstraction, while his educational endeavors demystify the often-misunderstood creative process for artists worldwide. He is well known for his “Intrusion Series” developed since 2015 which asks the question, “Who is Intruding on Whom?” and for his book, Fishing for Elephants, written to inspire authentic creativity.
